本章资料主要包括我市教育事业、科学技术活动和文化事业的基本情况，由市统计局社会科技处根据有关部门资料整理编辑。

教育部分包括各类教育的学校、教师和学生情况，由市教育委员会提供；科学技术部分主要包括科技机构、大中型工业企业和高等学校的科技活动情况，以及2000年R&D资源清查主要数据，由市科学技术委员会、市教育委员会和市统计局社会科技处提供；专利资料由市知识产权局提供；商标申请注册来源于市工商行政管理局；产品、商品质量监督检查资料由市质量技术监督局提供；文化部分主要包括图书馆、文物、群众艺术文化、广播电视、新闻出版等情况，资料主要来自市文化局、市广播电视局、市新闻出版局。

The data in this chapter show the basic statistics on education, scientific & technological activities and culture undertakings. All data are edited by Division of Social and Technology Statistics, Municipal Bureau of Statistics according to data from related departments.

Education covers the data on schools, teachers and students of various kinds, rooting from Municipal Education Committee. The data on science and technology mainly include scientific and technological activities in scientific & technological institutions, large and medium-sized industrial enterprises, universities and colleges, and survey of R&D resources in 2000, being provided by Municipal Scientific and Technological Committee, Municipal Education Committee and Division of Social and Technology Statistics, Municipal Bureau of Statistics. The data on patent are provided by Municipal Bureau of Intellectual Properties. Applications for registration of trade marks come from Municipal Administration for Industry and Commerce. The data on results of sampling supervision & check on product and commodity quality are from Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision. Data on culture includes libraries, cultural relics, mass arts & culture, broadcasting, televisions, news and publication from Municipal Culture Bureau, Municipal Administration of Broadcasting and Television, Municipal Bureau of News and Publication.
