Ⅰ.Chongqing Statistical Yearbook 2003
is a large annual statistics publication compiled by Chongqing Statistical
Bureau and issued by China Statistics Press publicly. Chongqing
Statistical Yearbook 2003 covers not only the comprehensive data and
series of analytic reports of Chongqing's social and economic development,
but also the major statistics on all districts (counties) in 2002,
reflecting various aspects of Chongqing's social and economic results..
Ⅱ. The yearbook contains special issue, 5 chapters of 23
parts and the appendix: 1. GENERAL SURVEY CHAPTER, including (1) General
Survey, (2) National Economic Accounting, (3) Population and Employment,
(4) Investment in Fixed Assets, (5) Energy Consumption, (6) Living
Standards and Prices, (7) Urban Construction and Environmental Protection,
(8) Various Markets; 2. INDUSTY CHAPTER, including (9) Agriculture and
Rural Economy, (10) Industry, (11) Construction, (12) Transportation,
Postal and Telecommunication Services, (13) Domestic Trade, (14) Foreign
Economic Relations, Trade and Tourism, (15) Finance,Banking and Insurance,
(16) Education, Science, Technology and Culture, (17) Public Health,
Social Welfare, Sports and Others; 3. DISTRICT AND COUNTY CHAPTER, that is
(18) Districts and Counties; 4. ENTERPRISE CHAPTER, that is (19)
Enterprises; 5. SPECIAL TOPIC CHAPTER, containing (20) High-tech Industry,
(21) Seconde Census of Basic Units in Chongqing in 2001, (22) Enterprises
Groups and Business Survey, (23) Resettlement of Chongqing Reservoir Area
of Three Gorges Project; and the APPENDIX appends main data of the state,
provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the
jurisdiction of central government. Brief Introduction is at the beginning
of each chapter, includes main coverage of this chapter and data sources.
Explanatory Notes on Main Statistical Indicators are provided at the end
of each part.
Ⅲ. The units of measurement used in this yearbook are
international standard measurement units.
Ⅳ. The major data sources of this publication are obtained
from annual statistical reports, and some from sample surveys. Statistics
in the APPENDIX come from China Statistical Summary complied by China
Statistics Press.
Ⅴ. Statistical discrepancies due to rounding are not adjusted
in this yearbook.
Ⅵ. The notes concerning individual indicators are placed at
the lower part of the table or the last page.
Ⅶ. Notations used in this yearbook:
“…” indicates that the figure is not large enough to be measured with the
smallest unit in the table; “(blank)” indicates that the date not
available; “#” indicates that the major items of the total.
Ⅷ. Thanks for enthusiastic assistances of many units and
individuals in the process of edition and translation. Due to our limited
level and hasty time, faults and shortage are unavoidable. We ask for
criticism and comments from personalities of various circles.
