Chongqing Statistical Yearbook 2004 is a large annual statistical publication compiled by Chongqing Municipal Bureau of Statistics and issued by China Statistics Press openly, which covers not only comprehensive data on Chongqing's social and economic development in 2003 and some selected data series in historically important years, but also the major statistics on all districts (counties), as well as main data of the state, provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the jurisdiction of central government.
¢ò. The yearbook contains 5 chapters of 22 parts and the appendix: 1. GENERAL CHAPTER, including (1) Comprehensive Statistics, (2) National Economic Accounting, (3) Population and Employment, (4) Investment in Fixed Assets, (5) Energy Consumption, (6) Living Standards and Prices, (7) Urban Construction and Environmental Protection, (8) Various Markets; 2. INDUSTRY CHAPTER, including (9) Agriculture and Rural Economy, (10) Industry, (11) Construction, (12) Transportation, Postal and Telecommunication Services, (13) Domestic Trade, (14) Foreign Economic Relations, Trade and Tourism, (15) Public Finance and Financial Statistics, (16) Education, Science, Technology and Culture, (17) Public Health, Social Welfare, Sports and Others; 3. DISTRICT (COUNTY) CHAPTER, that is (18) Districts (Counties) and Development Zones; 4. ENTERPRISE CHAPTER, that is (19) Enterprises; 5. SPECIAL TOPIC CHAPTER, containing (20) High-tech Industry, (21) Enterprises Groups and Business Survey, (22) Resettlement of Chongqing Reservoir Area of Three Gorges Project; and the APPENDIX appends main data of the state, provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the jurisdiction of central government. Brief Introduction is at the beginning of each chapter, includes main coverage of this chapter and data sources. Explanatory Notes on Main Statistical Indicators are provided at the end of each part.

of national economic sectors (GB/T4754-84), Other data are adopted new
classification of national economic sectors (GB/T4754-2002), data in 2002
are readjusted in accordance with GB/T4754-2002.
¢ô. The units of measurement used in this yearbook are international standard measurement units.
¢õ. The major data sources of this publication are obtained from annual statistical reports, and some from sample surveys. Statistics in the APPENDIX come from China Statistical Summary complied by China Statistics Press.
¢ö. Statistical discrepancies due to rounding are not adjusted in this yearbook.
¢÷.The notes concerning individual indicators are placed at the lower part of the table or the last page.
